  • How long does a resin-bound pool deck maintain its traction?

    Angular aggregate locked into the resin matrix does not polish flat under normal foot traffic the way concrete or tile does. With a correctly specified UV-stable resin and frost-proof sub-base, the traction finish holds through repeated freeze-thaw cycles without requiring resurfacing.

  • What happens if the sub-base is not prepared for frost heave?

    An under-prepared sub-base shifts during freeze-thaw cycles, cracking the resin layer from below. Once the surface cracks, the traction aggregate separates and the deck becomes a slip hazard. The installer assesses the existing base before any resin work is scheduled to prevent this.

  • Is a resin pool deck permeable enough to handle heavy splashing?

    Yes. The permeable drainage layer built into the spec moves water off the deck surface quickly, preventing the standing water that raises slip risk. The drainage specification is written into the quote so you can confirm it before work starts.

  • Can resin-bound surfaces handle the UV intensity at Golden’s altitude?

    Standard resin binders degrade under intense Foothills UV, causing delamination within a few seasons. The installer specifies UV-stable aggregate and a resin formulation rated for Golden’s solar exposure, preventing the surface breakdown that creates uneven, slippery patches.

  • What is included in the written quote?

    The quote itemizes sub-base preparation, resin formulation, aggregate grade, drainage specification, and any snow melt integration. No work is scheduled until you have reviewed and agreed the full written scope.

  • Can a resin pool deck be installed over an existing concrete surround?

    It depends on the condition of the concrete. The installer assesses the existing surface for cracks, frost heave damage, and drainage fall before specifying whether an overlay is suitable or whether sub-base work is needed first.
