How It Works

  • Will a resin-bound surface hold up through Golden’s freeze-thaw cycles?

    Yes, when the sub-base is correctly prepared and a frost-proof resin formulation is used. The permeable drainage layer removes standing water before it can refreeze, which is the main cause of surface cracking in repeated freeze-thaw conditions.

  • What happens if I delay fixing a damaged or non-draining walkway?

    A surface that pools water will refreeze each night, widening any existing cracks through frost heave. Each freeze-thaw cycle deepens the damage, meaning the sub-base repair scope grows and the eventual cost increases the longer the surface is left.

  • How is the aggregate grade chosen for my specific path?

    The installer measures the path gradient on site. Steeper grades receive coarser angular aggregate for higher traction; gentler slopes can use a finer blend. The aggregate specification is confirmed in the written quote before any work starts.

  • Can hydronic snow melt be added to a resin walkway?

    Yes. If the slope and usage pattern warrant it, snow melt integration is scoped and priced in the original written quote so there are no surprises during installation.

  • How wide can a resin walkway be, and does width affect drainage?

    Path width is specified in the written quote alongside sub-base depth and aggregate grade. Wider paths on steeper grades may require additional cross-fall design to maintain effective drainage, the installer confirms this during the site visit.
